January News – New Year, New Decade, New Day

Snow-Clad-Trees-thumbHappy Tidings this January

With the holiday rush behind us, we now have time to settle into the bones of winter and watch and wait as the winter makes us all go within and look within and stay within. In the northeast and by the looks of it-even other parts us the US,we really are having a hard, cold winter. It is such a good to time to reassess our selves, our plans and just rest and “do” less ” be” less and expect less. This is something a large many of us need right now. In many cultures we place our hopes on things and place many ridged standards on our outcomes, of developments, ideas, work, and the like. We make ourselves hard acts to follow. Yet also many cultures do like the notion of letting go of those hard angles to life, those hard expectations of ourselves, our lives. Maybe during times like this, when the sun sets earlier, the roads are not passable; maybe this is the Universal plan to get us to slow down and just BE and let the workings of the ways of our own prayers and hopes just begin to get delivered. The painter Claude Monet once wrote “there is no time more alive than the intimate now, where truths are eternal.”

With the planet of communications and equipment function retrograde right now (Mercury; until January 15th) this time IS a good one to just gather up the pieces and visit our thoughts and motives from the past and maybe work on plans for the future. Maybe this is just a great time to just listen. To just LISTEN. Not to the voices of fears, or even the news or the TV at all. To our “gut”, our intuition, our prayers, our hopes. To the voice of those who love us, who really wish the best for us. I have had many clients in crises right now, as one world seems to be “falling away” and the other one well, not quite here yet to land on. This can be unnerving. Yet remember, it is in those times of darkness that the substance that fertilizes the next garden does its work. There is much of the past to be released before the next glorious bit can come whispering in your doorway. Many of you have been very, very brave as well. Saying NO “this is not right for me anymore” to things once seemingly having a good purpose for you. This is a time of great courage. One thing I am often guided to say to you is YOU ARE NOT ALONE.

So many shifts are happening. As the planets do their good work to keep our “horoscope” churning to get us to release the unneeded and hard, it does as well bring us to the AH HA! of our own awareness of the true question… “What and who am I?” and “How did I get here?” and “What shall I do now ?”. You see, if we all ask this of ourselves and of us as a global populous, the Source of the answer to those questions will come in and answer it for us. In all spiritual regions of belief we are all being asked to ask the important questions of ourselves and then look around us and see if we can match that goodness outwardly. As above so below, as within so without. Believe in something BETTER and more BEAUTIFUL.

BE PRESENT. Just be present and take it in. In comes change and movement. Let trust drive our train to the home of ourselves.

I am looking to the new year and the new decade with prayers of Light and Healing for our world

and I trust you are doing the same. In the evening I often catapult myself to a star in the Universe and look down on our world through the eye of the Creator and see

just how beautiful and amazing it is. Why would we want any more than the simple beauty of a world unharmed and full of Grace.

This is my hope for the decade and always. Peace.

with love and gratitude for you and all that is,

I send great Hope and Blessings,

Sarah

I close with a prayer from a great mentor :

We pray to the great Spiritual Power in which

we live and move and have our being.

We pray that we may at all times

keep our minds open to new ideas and shun dogma;

that we may grow in our understanding of the nature of all living beings

and our connectedness with the natural world;

that we may become ever more filled with

generosity of spirit and true compassion and love for all life;

that we may strive to heal the hurts that we have inflicted on nature

and control our greed for material things, knowing that

our actions are harming our natural world and the future of our children;

that we may value each and every human being

for who he is, for who she is,

reaching to the spirit that is within,

knowing the power of each individual to change the world.

We pray for social justice,

for the alleviation of the crippling poverty

that condemns millions of people around the world

to lives of misery – hungry, sick, and utterly without hope.

We pray for the children who are starving,

who are condemned to homelessness, slave labor, and prostitution,

and especially for those forced to fight, to kill and torture

even members of their own family.

We pray for the victims of violence and war,

for those wounded in body and for those wounded in mind.

We pray for the multitudes of refugees, forced from their homes to alien places

through war or through the utter destruction of their environment.

We pray for suffering animals everywhere,

for an end to the pain caused by scientific experimentation,

intensive farming, fur farming, shooting, trapping,

training for entertainment, abusive pet owners,

and all other forms of exploitation

such as overloading and overworking pack animals,

bull fighting, badger baiting, dog and cock fighting and so many more.

We pray for an end to cruelty,

whether to humans or other animals,

for an end to bullying, and torture in all its forms.

We pray that we may learn the peace that comes with forgiving

and the strength we gain in loving;

that we may learn to take nothing for granted in this life;

that we may learn to see and understand with our hearts;

that we may learn to rejoice in our being.

We pray for these things with humility;

We pray because of the hope that is within us,

and because of a faith in the ultimate triumph of the human spirit;

We pray because of our love for Creation, and because of our trust in God.

We pray, above all, for peace throughout the world.
